My little darling ( 9 year old son) earned a character achievement at his school and was to be recognized at his school's annual Easter Egg Hunt. Can't miss this of course. Drive 15 minutes to the location of the egg hunt, only to have the entire egg hunt over in less than ten minutes, which included the recognition ceremony. So since I brought my fancy camera I staged about ten photo ops to make it seem more worth while. Then drove another 15 minutes home. I'm all for encouraging my little darling in his achievements and pursuits of fun, ie the egg hunt. But a thirty minute round trip drive for less than ten minutes of fun??
Ok, one more rant, my rock, (husband of 12 years) will be gone for 5 days at the end of the week. He rarely has this happen, and I'm already dreading it. I miss him already and he will still be here this week. Maybe it's the PMS, or the stress of having a job interview this week - but I really miss him already.
