Ding Dong

Oh the things our kids do. Parked the car today at work and hopped out to get my various belongings out of the backseat. Little Darling has of course done the same, except I see he has a sheepish look on his face. What did you do I ask - nothing really he replies. I take stock of his open door and the wind and ask if he hit the car next to us. Sheepishly he replies yes, he has. It's left a mark. Honestly my initial reaction was to get back in the car and move it, not tell anyone. We just don't need to pay for anything else right now - it's tight. I know that reaction is wrong - but honestly it was self preservation. Her insurance will cover it. But no, I'm a grown up now - can't act how I did in my teens (if it was your car I hit at Dillards back in 95, I'm very, very sorry!!). Went inside, had them announce overhead that the owner of the burgandy van needed to call the office. Poor woman - this is the last thing she needs. After appologizing profusely - I told her I'd pay for it, and even give her a lift the day she takes her car to the shop. Oh the joy of parenting and having to model good behavior.

My mom taught me that if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. I don't expect you not to disagree with me at times, however I do expect you to do so politely.
